so yes, my ioc is over and i got background. bleah. i really dunno what to say. i guess its going to score about a 6pts. generally i do feel that i could have done much better, but i guess i did give my best. i did use up my entire 12 mins and i did go into as much detail as i could without rambling and stuff. mdm was amazingly honest and encouraging and hopefully the marks are going to be deserving of the amount of effort i did try to put into it. i was considerbly upset i didnt get tn or lear cos i do think i sorta wasted alot of time studying for those. whatever the case, its over. and i guess i gave it my best. thank god for everything. and thanks alot to those who msged me yesterday and today, to wish me all the best for ioc. and to kerry for her notes on background! ah. quite saviour notes!

as for now, its week9. like 2 and a half weeks to prelims, and about a month and 2 weeks to art final year ib exam! work work work! homework for today- 2 english commentaries! im sure that will keep me busy for the night!  

sorry ive not updated in a while. been busy this week and besides ive just completed my course of medication. i guess im sorta better, but not 100% fully recovered. thank god im much better. anwyays this is just some highlights from the week. enjoy!

leons conversation with me. he was supposedly sick. and his reason “kinna sick in a very strange area” as seen in the conversation. thats really really hilarious.

the last picture: council step down dinner yesterday night. it was unusual. thats probably the word i will use to describe it. anyways im glad its over and i guess this officially marks the end of the term. its been great fun and im sure council will be one of the many memories ive had in this school. i’ll probably do a good long shout-out sometime soon, but for now, thanks to yeang and liuyi for the letters. and to adwyn, rene and hoeyue for organising the dinner.

church went well today and i think the discussion was very applicable. it was about- what we are going to do after we leave sunday school (youth grp in the church). i think today the lesson was a good reminder and it was a good time of sharing. thanks to all those involved. i am still uncertain about the future but im sure god has plans for me and i know that i will seek him and surely he will guide me in that direction. after much reflection, i realised that god had been talking to me about one word- ‘growth’ these couple months. hes been putting me in alot of circumstances and through reflection and conversations, im slowly able to understand. thank you lord.

for now, ioc is the one thing on my mind. its on tuesday at 12. so keep me in yr prayers. to be honest, i am quite nervous, but im sure by his grace, it will be okay. and work work work. 2 essays due this week. wed connors essay and friday prose! and ive got my sgc to finalise and Hopefully at the end of this week, i can start studying for prelims. if your reading this now(850pm), go watch the china singapore match! its been very exciting esp for the first 2 matches. even though we are losing, im sure they are giving their best and we can see that in their determination! go team singapore!

went to see the doctor today, and my throats infected which caused my tongue to hurt. so im on a week of antibiotics. bleah. the doctor’s advice? sleep properly. at least 7hours of continuous sleep a day. AT LEAST. lol. i told him i get 7 hours of sleep a day. but thats like inclusive of my daily nap, my broken sleep pattern and my ’sleep alot during the weekend to make up for the lack of sleep’.

anyways i was on mc today (and so were so many other people), but i did go to school for the english lesson at the end of the day. it was an ioc practise. i did give the commentary and it was bleah “disappointing” i guess i can conclude 3 things. 1. it doesnt look that easy and its not something that u can “just whack la”. and 2. dont paraphrase. i seem to do that rather often acc to mdm, but i dont think so. i guess in this case, the teacher is always right- so i guess i shd stop doing that. and 3. i got to start practising. maybe the annotating on the paper isnt doing me any good. i shd not read off my annotations. whatever the case, im glad i had this pre-ioc, which has made me realise how much more work ive got to put in for my ioc. i think i must engage myself more with the novel. imagine im in the novel and stuff. i seem to know what the characters are feeling and all, but i dont seem to be able to SAY it out.

sometimes i do wonder. many people who has finished their ioc has said that it was “easy” and they got “an easy extract” but is it really that easy? perhaps. i guess it is a matter of opinion and stuff.

my to-do list is growing very quickly. ioc, 2 english commentaries, ART exam and ART rwb and ART prelim, sgc draft2, study!

been sick the past couple days. again. bleah. i dont really understand. i keep getting sick from the same stuff. its always a bad throat. oh and i was down with flu and now my tongue hurts. bleah. supposed to see the doctor today but since hes not around, i might take a green form tomorrow to go see the doctor (but im supposed to present for tn tomorrow! bleh). so what have i been doing the past days? sleep sleep sleep. watch olympics. sleep. bleah. iocs been really slow although i have started. hopefully i can reach the halfway mark by tonight. the olympics has been rather exciting too. been watching archery (mens and ladies), swimming, volleyball, hockey, gymnastics, and been watching quite abit of badminton today. okay. i shall get back to resting. hopefully i can get better quickly. sheesh.

today is 080808, which marks 2 occasions. firstly, the national day celebrations in school and secondly, the beginning of the olympic games.

went to school wearing my candy cane shirt all ready for the celebrations. lol. the day started with assembly at the astroturf, where we basically wasted our time. thanks to jeremy for his laptop and chris for her ipod to keep me occupied. (send me the song breaking dishes!) then we made the connect singapore thing. thank god we were last. held hands to show that we were connected. lols. i dont really understand how this is supposed to instill unity and give me a sense of belonging, but i guess the idea and the excecution of the task went well. gd job to mrs judy ho! the ceremony and award stuff followed. it was held at the audi. i guess nothing much to say, just congrats to all who received the awards- fab, yj, wes, kenneth, zhang, derek. and dkoh, lucas, jase, louis… (add yr name here if i missed u) sry. i guess this award to these guys are equally as important to honours day for most of us. ive never been in a uyo in my entire life. never marched b4, no idea what commands mean and have no idea whats the ranks after cadets. haha. i really think uyo is quite tough- so great job to u guys for serving the school in this aspect!

community singing was hilarious. yes. hadi’s brother!!! hes so so funny!!!! i tot watching him at choir was good. this is even more hilarious. the songs and the dancing. omg. haha. it was just hilarious. if u ponned today, too bad! haha. after it all ended, we (jem, han an, cw, jia, leon, benk and me) went to broadway for lunch and i went back to school with cw to do art with jaime. haha. it all went well. thereafter i headed to town to do stuff and went hm thereafter.

went for tennis after dinner! and yes i owned doug. oh and yes i got facebook today on this special date. haha. lol. why? cos ppl keep inviting me and asking me to view fotos and wadnots. so yes. i have finally got facebook. do find me  and add me. ive added some people today. but i think im not gg to bother much about facebook. to me, facebook is just like friendster and all the other nonsence friend sites i had registered for in my younger days. bleah. but i will reply stuff and all i guess. when i find the time. ioc and work and prelim and art are top on my list.

ah. and yes. olympics today!!! haha. at this moment, im watchin the opening ceremony. its getting abit boring cos the countries have been walking in since 9ish and its like almost 11 now. haha. im sure the games will be really exciting esp when it starts tomorrow. golf shd be an olympic sport!!! haha. did u realise that the olympics is on 8.8.08. haha. how appropriate- so chinese. haha. oh. singapore just walked in! haha. and were followed by the all blacks!

haha. my previous post seems to be creating some sort of a discussion. firstly, to the unknown year6, if u are brave enough, do leave yr name- i do appreciate yr comment. (if i had my ip address tracer, i prob can find out who u are) secondly, i am a very opinionated person, so i guess what im saying is purely based on my views, findings and opinions from friends and you are always allowed to have a different stand and disagree. surprisingly, there was the notice board thing today outside our class. its really nice and im sure we can all see the effort put into that. so for that, i think they have certainly made the effort! and i think the idea (although not original) was definietly something cool! =) as for what i said previously, i still believe its true. as to wad kenneth said, i think i agree. a council doesnt need to be activity-led, but in my opinion, a council must be able to show the students who voted them in- what they are capable of doing, whatever it may be. as for now, i believe tht the 3rd council is definietly working and serving the school. however im sure they can do more. maybe they havent realised that their council term is actually very short (okay- i realised this when my term was abt to end). maybe its because they are preparing for teachers day already? haha. i think time will tell and all we got to do is wait. i have faith that they will not only grow from strength to strength, but probably to become a ‘bond fire’ which is their theme for the year. bonding everyone together as one. (hopefully this can be achieved b4 we leave ib. lol)

today dr ong announced the introduction of the 2 new vps in replacement of mrs cho. they are mdm yong and ms chia. many people asked me my opinion to this matter. but honestly, i have nothing to say. i think mdm yong and ms chia are fantastic individuals who will defineitly do a great job! and i think its in line with the vision the school has. and 7 ppl in the admin! wow! theres significance to the number! whatever the case is, i still think mrs cho will be missed dearly by many who has worked with her.

yesterday was a very productive day in school. had all the lessons backt0back. i ve not had a day like that in ages. today was another one of those slack days. chem in the morning, then art and english. the 3 hr long free period in the middle, followed by econs which wrapped up the day. mr toh and mr farlow talked to us today- reminding us that our days are numbered and our art exam is so so close. i can actually feel some pressure. so besides ioc, art is probably the only other thing on my mind. arggh. work work work. draw. paint. be creative. reflect. abtstraction. wash. space. reality. dream. expression.

repetitions of these-cannot go on. lifes better without you-i have to move on. fun and love- its not a game. the matter of fact- its guilt and pain. its a moment thing-you wont understand. - you wont understand. vanish.

what is wrong with the zhnging of the national day songs!!!! nice turn them all to some retro remix. today at chapel i thought one song was bad enough. nice i decided to go to the ndp website to check out the songs and i realised that most of the original sound tracks are also screwed up! bring back the original singers! kit chan ftw! i really dont get it, songs which capture the ‘memories of generations’ just gone like this. bleah.

connect singapore- making the shape of singapore on the astroturf to promote bonding and unity and so on…. lols. doesnt connect singapore sound like a good name for a telephone provider. haha. i think it would make a considerbly fantastic name! haha. 

a relatively good day in school. accomplished in some sense i guess. thank god for that.

(added-1140pm) i was talking to my best friend just now and we were chatting abt student council. it appears tat the year 6s (students and ex councilors) feel that this council isnt even performing up to standards. nice and have olympic week and u dont invite year 6s. (i mean u can just invite us right> and we can decide if we want to go or not). besides that, come to think of it, what has the 3rd council done for the year 6s since we voted them into council. its week 7 now. at the rate this goes, whats the point of having a new council? i am very afraid to even think prom is going to be runned by them. (but to look at this objectively, they might be serving the yr 5s. but i am in no position to judge. all we know (and i speak on behalf of the year6s)- is that the council has not done anything for the yr6s fm the time they entered council till now. (and the mrs cho card thing- it was nice to do it. but its just somehting small. u dont need a council to do something like this. but im glad they did take the initative to do it). what pissed the yr 6s off? some councilors wanted the yr6s to find them to return the papers. i find that hard to believe. but it happened.

sry for not blogging yesterday. was just really really tired after such a long day. yesterday was my 18th bday and it was a fantastic day. from lunch to bowling to pool to dinner to drinks to icecream to singing. thank u.

just came back from choir/dance foa not too long ago. and supper after. haha. sat with chongwee, phi, derek, jono and michelle. my parents went too, but they sat downstairs. the performace this evening was fantastic actually. one of the better or i shall say best performace of the choir in the past 4 years ive gone for choir foa. the ib choir and combined choir were good. and the ib year 7s who came back did a fantastic job with their medley of movie songs and all! the guest performance was good! it was by dance venia, and i think of all their acts, i liked the last one the best. i think it was performed by mostly the year6s! great job guys! so great job to: my brother!, kerry!, stuart!, bryanleow!, janice!, justin!, evelyn!, victoria!, jaime!, ama!, amanda!, edmund!, mish!, sarina! fantastic job to all!!!! lol. i only realised i knew so many people in choir and dance when i wrote this out. lol.

didnt blog the past days cos there wasnt much to blog about. tuesday felt good. sumbitted the EE on  mr tan. i guess ive already done my best for it and i did work on my last minute comments received. i really hope that its good enough and all. wednesday and thursday went well and nothing much to blog about i guess. highlight of wednesday was fire drill. lol. if thats even worth looking forward to. slept at about 2ish am on wed night has i was rushing out my english commentary due thurs. i had to do it so late cos i was ‘captured by the world of the’…. msn. lol. spent like 3 hours talking to people and all. sheesh. i feel kinna guilty now. yesterday was a waste of time except for the chem period in the morning and mr ong’s lesson on tot, which has not been completed. additionally, we had the golf fotoshoot yesterday too, thanks to yihang for the effort. haha. one pic was for the school mag and the others were just informal shots. (the pic on the right is one which i hit the ball out of zhizhuangs mouth. my goal? the acsi clock tower abt 150meters away! lol)(and u wouldnt want to see what the next pic in the series looked like. LOL) headed to help do the backdrop deco for choir night after pc, which was spent trying to complete my sgc and cca achievements.

didnt go for x country today. was supposed to pon it. yes i admit i was supposed to pon it. but i ended up being unwell yesterday evening, so i genuinely was unwell to attend it. and my back problem still stands. going to get a doctors report soon i think. bleah. fab just updated me on how things went and i guess for a more accurate report, go read his blog when he updates it. hm. congrats to the ghk girls and everyone who ran well! congrats! spent the day doing work. going to complete my sgc thing now. theres choir night tonight too. i dont feel 364 days older from my last bday. tks for all the early greetings. hah.
